Friends don’t let friends buy skincare from chain stores”

It’s the phrase that greets you on Fountain of Youth Skincare’s website.  I’m excited to share with you this line that I’ve recently discovered and am totally loving.

One of my New Years Resolutions is to start taking better care of my skin. I am the girl who takes her makeup off at the end of the day with a “makeup removing wipe” and calls it good. I’ve tested out a few moisturizers from my birchbox and ipsy bag, as well as the drugstore but never really invested in a skincare system. Heck, I never even paid that much attention to the fact that my skin probably needs more. I’ve been pretty lucky to have skin that’s free of acne and I’m a believer that what you put into your body really shows through your skin too. Eating healthy and drinking a ton of water has been my routine for years.

When Fountain of Youth Skincare contacted me about trying the products, I was really intrigued by everything the brand was about. The products are vegan, organically farmed, cruelty free and made in the USA. I really commend FOY for being so environmentally responsible and I’m always happy to support companies who do so. The business is family owned in Portland, Oregon, and operates by the mantra that safe products don’t have to be boring. I love that. From body creme that smells just like vanilla cake, to chocolate masques and coffee bean eye balm, these products are anything but boring.

I chose 6 products to test out and I truly love all of them. I’ve been using them for a few weeks now, so I have a good idea of how well they work.

I put the Dream Skin Serum on every morning and night. It’s formulated to naturally smooth wrinkles and lines. I do notice that my skin feels extra soft and smooth after using it. Next I put on the coffee bean eye balm, which is one of my favorites. It smells just like coffee and does a great job of brightening the undereye area. The balm is full of lots of caffeine to de-puff. This is big for me… considering the fact that I wake up at 1:30 a.m. for work every morning and have to be looking bright-eyed and camera ready.

I use the coconut moisturizer on top of all of that. It’s thick and super hydrating but it doesn’t feel greasy or oily on your face. It smells delicious too. I was worried that it might make me break out like some products I’ve tried from other natural skincare lines did, but it did not! It also stayed matte throughout the day underneath my makeup (which is very important for me).

The vanilla mint lip scrub has been a godsend during this super cold Michigan winter. My lips always get chapped during this time of year and I’m constantly slathering on chapstick. I’ve been using this lip scrub to exfoliate one every other day or so and it’s helped keep my lips soft and uncracked the whole time! I make sure to use it before I put on my good chapstick and it’s worked wonders. It makes my lipstick look a lot better and smoother too.

Now to the products not made for your face. I was really excited to try the coffee body scrub. Two of it’s main ingredients are sugar and organic coconut oil.  I use sunless tanner a few times a week and this has been a great step to add in before I apply tanner. This one also smells amazing. I put the cake pie lotion on afterward and I smell like a bakery… in the best way possible, ha!

I linked everything for you up above. Fountain of Youth has been kind enough to give me a promo code for all of you to use! Just enter code “Jamie25” at checkout to get 25% off. This is the first blog post I’ve done that fits under the “beauty” category. So exciting! I plan to do more of these in the future and I would love to hear any feedback on what you all would like to see, try out, etc. Feel free to drop me a comment underneath!
