I’m finally getting around to sharing some pictures from this past weekend. We traveled to Pittsburgh to spend part of the Christmas weekend with family there. It was a really busy few days but so much fun. One of my favorite parts about going home to my dad and stepmom’s house is how beautifully decorated it always is for the holidays. I tried to capture that in a few of the pictures, but they don’t do the twinkling lights enough justice!

Friday we went to a tree farm, intending to get one of the trees already cut but it was so late in the season they pretty much just handed us a saw and told us to go cut one down ourselves. Gregg was able to cut that sucker down in about a minute. I think we all were surprised how easy it was – ha! It was a really fun experience to have and Huddy loved running around there.

Saturday night we went to Christmas Eve service at church like we do every year. It was such a beautiful service at a church we hadn’t been to before. It had a daycare room for the kids so we dropped Hudson off down there before it started but then Gregg ended up going down to get him so that he could hear the music and see all of the pretty lights. He put his little arm up and started dancing right away… it was the cutest thing ever.

Christmas day we drove back to Michigan to celebrate with my mom and stepdad. We finally made those holiday moscow mules I’ve been dreaming of and they turned out so good! I got Gregg a nice pair of real copper mugs for Christmas and – let me tell you – they make all the difference (not the ones pictured).

Huddy got spoiled with so many Christmas presents this year. His big gift was a beautiful play kitchen from my dad and stepmom. It’s been so much fun to watch him discover all of his new toys!

Overall I’m just so thankful and grateful to have been able to spend Christmas with my family this year. That’s not always the case working in the news business so I’ve learned to really cherish that time. Now that we have Hudson it’s all the more special.

On another note – I’ve been having what I’m calling a blog-mergency. I had all of these posts planned and then it rained the entire day Monday when I planned to shoot them! So – stay tuned for those coming up ASAP (sparkly NYE outfits included)!
