It seems that Memorial Day Weekend officially marks the start of summer. We’re about to step into the month of June and I’m kicking off the season with a look that is not only patriotic, but classic and fun. My red checkered midi skirt is great piece to add to your closet for summer. I had so many ideas of how to style this, but I think I like it best paired with chambray or light blue. Even just a plain chambray button up, tied at the waist would look so cute with this skirt. It’s cut really beautifully and is quite eye-catching with any movement. I also like that the waist band is a bit thicker, to really accentuate your waist. It’s a very flattering skirt.
Last year, Chicwish became my favorite place to buy midi skirts. Remember this London print skirt? I love that skirt so much, and I knew I would need to add some more printed midis to my closet! I recently snagged the one I’m wearing in today’s post, plus another that’s fabulous and will make its way to the blog soon. I order a size medium in any skirt from there, for reference.
I had been looking for a pair of heels that would go great with my growing collection of straw bags. I had been eyeing up this super cute pair, but hadn’t pulled the trigger on them yet. Then I hit the jackpot at Target! My heels are the Sam & Libby brand, but it doesn’t look like they are available online right now. I linked a pair that are the same but with a lower heel and in a different color for you above. I would check your local Target shoe section though, because I just got these a few days ago and they are amazing! Shoes and apparel are 20% off today at Target too.
