THE WITCHING HOUR

When witches go riding and black cats are seen,  the moon laughs and whispers ’tis near Halloween.”

As I sit here desperately tired, head aching from candy –  I love looking back at these pictures from Halloween. We made some warm spiced wine or “witches brew” and I stayed up late to take Hudson trick or treating. Even though I’m exhausted, it was totally worth it! He loved walking around the neighborhood and seeing all of the other kids dressed up. It was so fun to watch him enjoy that. I’m pretty sure he loved his costume too and – I still can’t believe it – he kept his hat on!

Now onto my costume! I built it around this black tulle dress that I’ve had for years. I bought it from Modcloth for an event and I’m glad that I got to wear it another time. You could really use any black dress in your closet for this costume. Just add a black witch hat, destructed tights and a pair of pointed toe boots and you are good to go. Apparently I waited to long to get a broom because I looked EVERYWHERE Saturday and they were all sold out! So I was a broomless witch but I think it still turned out ok.

I still can’t stop laughing at Gregg’s penguin costume. He was definitely into it and busted out some hilarious penguin dance moves. One of the many reasons I love Halloween… Here are a few more pictures from trick or treating. You can see Hudson has on Gregg’s real life police badge. They make two pretty cute policemen <3
