TRUNK CLUB TRY ON: ROUND 2

Happy Fri-YAY, beautiful friends! Today I’m giving you the low down on my second Trunk Club experience. After completely falling in love with the service once I tried it, I was really excited to see how my stylist did with round two! If you haven’t read my first Trunk Club review, check it out, because I went into much more detail about the service there.

This round, I told my Trunk Club stylist, Anna, that I was looking for some great fall pieces – jeans, sweaters (preferably off the shoulder and longer length), dresses I could wear with over the knee boots, a faux leather skirt, and a pair of booties. Once I got the preview, it was so cool to see that she really listened to what I wanted and picked out things that were totally my style. There was one little hiccup…I’ll get to that in a bit.

Without further ado, the clothes…

B.P Decon Skinny Jeans:Ā These skinny jeans are actually really cute. It’s hard to tell in the pictures, but there is blush velvet peaking out underneath two of the ripped parts. I love the raw, step hem at the bottom. The only problem is that these jeans are probably a size too big. I could tell that after one wear, they would be sagging on me. The thing I neglected to tell my stylist is that I had lost 10 lbs since I filled out my style profile (hooray, but oh crap). I sent these back, but I would def like to try them again in a different size, especially because the price is awesome for jeans. ($65)

Treasure & Bond Off the Shoulder Sweater: Ok, this sweater was one of my favorite things in the box. I absolutely love the off the shoulder style, the soft pink color, and the softness. It’s just a gorgeous sweater overall. This one was a size medium, and I definitely would have needed a small in it. Thankfully, Anna said she will send me the size small in my next box, since I loved it so much! ($69)

Halogen Cade Booties in Leopard: Oh my gaaaahd. I love these booties so much! I’ve seen similar pairs all over the place lately, and on a lot of my favorite bloggers. I was dying for a pair to wear with dresses and jeans this fall. These ones have a great block heel that is low enough to be comfortable but high enough to elongate your legs. I just love everything about them! Definitely a keep! For some reason the leopard print doesn’t seem to be available online yet, so these must be brand new! I will keep checking for you guys though, because I’ve had a lot of people asking me about them already. Ā ($119)

Lush Ruffle Sleeve T-Shirt Dress: People were going nuts over this dress during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I actually tried to get it then, but it was sold out in every color for weeks. I had given up. When I saw it in my preview for this trunk, I was excited to finally try it. The material is extremely soft and comfortable and I love the ruffle sleeves. My only complaint with this dress is that it felt a little too short to wear without tights or leggings. This was a size small, so I may try a medium and see if that helps in the length department. ($39)

Lush Tie Sleeve Tunic Sweater: I liked the idea of this sweater, the tie sleeves were super cute, but it was a bit too oversized for my liking. Even wearing the small, I felt like I was swimming in it. I also would have preferred the length in the front to be a little longer, because I think this would have been cute with leggings if it was. Ā  ($49)

Madewell Cali Ripped Demi Bootleg Crop Jeans: You know from my last review that I absolutely love Madewell jeans. That was my first time trying them and I have bought another pair since then. The quality and fit is unmatched, in my opinion. I was interested to try these because I love the super high waist of this pair but wasn’t sure how the cropped bootleg cut would look on me. I think I may be a little too short to pull it off, because these didn’t seem to flatter my legs at all. I actually tried this black sweater on with the pair of made well skinny jeans I bought recently and you can see the major difference. These are super cute but the cut isn’t for me. Ā ($135)

BP. Dolman Sleeve Sweater: I love that she sent me a black sweater, because I get a ton of wear out of them every year. The flared sleeves on this one are really fun. I think this would look really great with plaid or leather skirts this season. I wasn’t a huge fan of the mock neck, for some reason I always feel like those bother me. I was really close to keeping this, but I decided to ask for one with a different neck in my next trunk. ($39)

Note: the jeans and booties pictured above were already mine, I just wanted to try the sweater on with a different pair of jeans! Absolutely love these madewell jeans though!

Wayf Elroy Choker Collar Wrap Dress:Ā I really love the style of this dress. I thought it would go great with over the knee boots. The velvet trend is super hot right now, and the color is just gorgeous. I also really loved the choker neck. This dress looked so amazing on the model, but I think the fit was a little off for me. You can’t tell in the pictures, but I had a hard time getting it to cover my chest (lol). I really like how it looks with my black boots though! Ā ($85)

BP. Color block Cape: I love this cape! I have a few of these from preview years but this one is far better quality and just feels so cozy. This was another one of my favorite things in the trunk. I love these over leather leggings, or with jeans and booties, skirts and boots…pretty much anything. Definitely a fall staple! ($39)

Not pictured: BP. Studded Mini Skirt.Ā I was so excited to try this one because I’ve been looking for a faux leather mini skirt. However this skirt ran so small I couldn’t even get it up over my thighs! It was a size small, which was supposed to be equivalent to a size 6. I would say it was more like a size 2. Yikes. Super cute but it would definitely need to be sized way up! ($69)

I didn’t end up keeping as much as I did from my first trunk, but a lot of that has to do with the fact that I’m losing weight and my sizes are all over the place. Looking back, I definitely should have told my stylist that (whoops)! That’s the great thing about this service though, you aren’t obligated to keep anything. So if one trunk doesn’t work out, you can give feedback on that one and it helps your stylist really zero in on your style/fit. The process is super easy too, because the trunk is dropped off at your doorstep and then you can just schedule a UPS pickup through the app before your 5 days is over. It’s just such a convenient and fun shopping experience! I forgot to mention this in my first review, but it’s not a monthly or quarterly subscription like a lot of other style boxes are. You can schedule each trunk individually and have them arrive whenever you want.
