If you are in search of the best pair of plain black leggings – great news – I have found them! Between searching online, reading reviews, and finally trying on multiple options in store, I finally found exactly what I was looking for. I wanted my leggings to be high waisted and do a good amount of “shaping”. I wanted them to be opaque and thick enough to not be see through. I also wanted them to be comfortable and slimming. Now those qualities, my friends, are harder to find in leggings than I thought! I thought I was going to love the spanx essential leggings because I love my faux-leather pair so much. I’m so glad I went and tried them on because they were almost totally see through (think pair of tights)! For $98? No thank you. I also tried on a pair from the “yummy” brand and liked them a lot. Almost as much as the lysse pair. The lysse leggings were darker than any of the other pairs, thicker and not see through at all. That’s really what won me over. Oh and they are $40 cheaper than the Spanx version. Win.

One of my favorite ways to wear leggings right now is with a pair of booties and a sleeveless turtleneck tunic over top. It seems like those are everywhere right now.  I linked the one i’m wearing for you above, as well as everything else I styled with it!

What a cute outfit! Cowl necks are my favorite during the cold months and I love the booties. 🙂
