WEDDING SEASON | How to dress a sundress up or down

Thanks to Francescas for sponsoring this post

The summer of 2017 turns out to be the summer of weddings for us. 3 friends – 3 weddings, each a different style. In prepping for each one, I got the idea to show you how you can easily style 1 sundress up or down depending on how dressy the occasion is. Sundresses are usually my choice for a wedding, because of how versatile they can be! I’m partnering with Francescas Collections to style this gorgeous blue floral wrap dress 2 ways – dressy and country/casual.

For my dressier look – I went with soft blush accessories. The simple strappy suede heels help to dress up the sundress. I really love the bow clutch and how it fits over your hand. It makes it so easy to carry around. I finished off the look with a gorgeous pair of light pink tassel earrings (you will only see them in a few of the photos because I lost a back while we were shooting, of course LOL).  I think this look would work for almost any wedding that is more casual than black tie.

On the far opposite end of the spectrum is a wedding trend that I really love – rustic. It’s only been in the last few years that I’ve really started to see a lot of them (thanks pinterest). My sister got married in cowboy boots a few years ago and I wore them with my bridesmaid dress. I basically fell in love with how the two pair together. These are actually some of my favorite kind of weddings. Here is how I styled the sundress for one of them…

For my casual look, I went with distressed brown cowboy boots and a matching brown clutch. I love how the simple gold layered necklace looks with the neckline of the dress. With my hair swept up into a messy bun, you can really appreciate how beautiful the top of this dress it too. I also linked a bunch of cute western booties and wedges for you above that I think would look really cute.

I had so much fun coming up with these two different looks! It’s so easy to take a dress like this from casual to dressy with just a few small changes. You could even kick the dressy look up a notch with a pair of sparkling statement earrings or a statement necklace and an updo.

Everything is linked for you under the shop the look sections and under $50! It looks like the dress I’m wearing is only available in Medium (the size I have), but I also love this one, this one and this one.
