I decorated for Halloween so early this year, I don’t even want to admit when it happened – LOL! It did give me plenty of time to get my house just the way I wanted it though, and i’m pretty sure I saw a study that said people who decorate for holidays early are happier people…sooo…..seems justified.
Since my decor is very neutral in my house, I like to keep my holiday decor mostly neutral with just small little pops of color here and there. I love how clean and modern my black and white color scheme looks – but I make sure to mix textures to add visual interest.
Our hall tree is one of my favorite pieces in the house to decorate each season. We bought it from Wayfair last year after looking all over for the right one. I will admit that I don’t use it much for storage, other than putting shoes in the bottom cabinet.
It was the perfect place to display the two linen pillows from Lady Liberty Linens we found at an outdoor craft show back in August. They might be two of my favorite pillows I’ve ever bought. The quality is amazing and I absolutely love the button details.
Those little black plates are actually Rae Dunn ovals from the halloween skeleton collection. I love the matte black and the simplicity of them when stacked like that. If you follow me on any social media, you probably already know that I collect Rae Dunn. I don’t have a ton of space in our house, so I keep it spread out in a few different areas for display, and then a lot of it is stored in our cabinets for everyday use.
How cute is that felt garland with the little ghosts on it? I found that at TJ Maxx and I’m definitely going to need to get one for Christmas. These look so cute draped over a fireplace mantel or a hutch too.
Aside from Christmas, Halloween is definitely my favorite for decorating. I’ve been so happy with how my decor turned out this year, and I think a lot of that is thanks to the awesome Facebook groups that I’ve been apart of. I find so much inspiration from the other women who have such a great eye for design. Some my favorites are Farmhouse Decor and Rae Dunn related, but there truly is so much more than what you would expect!
Now the question – when do I start putting away Halloween and stressing about how early I can acceptably pull out my gorgeous flocked Christmas trees…. #lordhelpme
