We’re heading out to celebrate New Years Eve in a bit but I wanted to put up this post and share my outfit with you all!
I know what you’re thinking – another sequin skirt? Yes, another sequin skirt. I love them… unapologetically. Plus, you have to break out the sequins for NYE. It’s some kind of unwritten rule. I was inspired by J Crew to create a look that is reminiscent of the brand’s funky aesthetic, that mixes fancy with unexpected and undone.
I love the way my striped boatneck tee pairs with sequins. The army green anorak adds another casual layer that I think pulls it all together really well. It’s unexpected with sequins but that’s the point.
This is the description of “fete mini skirt” skirt given by J Crew: “A celebration of shimmer rendered in hundreds of delicate sequins. Fashioned in soft tulle gracefully draped in a faux wrap silhouette”. Pure magic. Enough said. I could have never bought this skirt new (it’s from last year and beyond my budget), but I have learned that I can score amazing pieces like this lightly used from Poshmark. Poshmark is an online consignment service that allows users to sell and buy clothes. The skirt retailed for $178 but I only paid $26 for it. I’ve seen about 6 other listings on poshmark for this same skirt, this one is the same size I’m wearing.
If you sign up for poshmark and get the app, make sure to enter my code “NVRUS”. That will give you and I both a $5 credit. I’ve started selling some of my own clothes on Poshmark too so make sure to follow me and check out my “closet”! You can find me at @jamiewardtv.
Happy New Year to all of you!
